Assange: Emails show Clinton knowledge of US weapons to Islamist militants

Discussing a multitude of issues related to the late-July leak of 20,000 e-mails damaging to the DNC allegedly obtained by hacktivist Guccifer 2.0 and turned over to investigative journalism group Wikileaks, founder Julian Assange says in the additional emails planned for release is evidence Hillary Clinton was aware of arms shipments to the Middle East in 2011.

Assange stated the emails reveal Clinton was aware of the arms program that directly aided terror groups, including ISIS.

Assange also said emails in Wikileak’s possession directly contradict sworn testimony Clinton gave in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Jan. 23, 2013.

In an interview with Democracy Now, Assange responded to a question by co-host Juan Gonzales about the importance of Wikileaks creating the searchable database of Clinton emails:

“So, those Hillary Clinton emails, they connect together with the cables that we have published of Hillary Clinton, creating a rich picture of how Hillary Clinton performs in office, but, more broadly, how the U.S. Department of State operates. So, for example, the disastrous, absolutely disastrous intervention in Libya, the destruction of the Gaddafi government, which led to the occupation of ISIS of large segments of that country, weapons flows going over to Syria, being pushed by Hillary Clinton, into jihadists within Syria, including ISIS, that’s there in those emails. There’s more than 1,700 emails in Hillary Clinton’s collection, that we have released, just about Libya alone.”Assange stated.

On Friday in a separate interview with HBO’s Bill Maher, Assange said Wikileaks was also in the process of attempting to publicize Donald Trump’s tax return documents, a claim the organization refuted a day later.
