Osama bin Laden’s son vows revenge against America

In a 21-minute audio address uploaded online, the 25-year-old son of Osama bin-Laden, Hamza bin-Laden, has pledged revenge against the United States and guaranteed the global terror campaign launched by his father will continue.

Osama bin-Laden, founder and first General Emir of terror group Al- Qaeda, was assassinated by U.S. Navy SEALs at an Abbottabad, Pakistan, safe house in May 2011.  Hamza’s brother, Khalid, was also killed in the raid.

“We will continue striking you and targeting you in your country and abroad in response to your oppression of the people of Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and the rest of the Muslim lands that did not survive your oppression.  As for the revenge by the Islamic nation for Sheikh Osama, may Allah have mercy on him, it is not revenge for Osama the person but it is revenge for those who defended Islam,” Hamza said in the audio address.

From an early age, Hamza is said to have demonstrated an enthusiasm for his father’s ideals and intelligence documents recovered after the May 2011 Abbottabad raid revealed Osama bin-Laden was priming Hamza for a leadership position within the al-Qaeda network.

Although with his father prior and immediately after the September 11 attacks, Hamza spent time under house arrest in Iran before his release in 2010, but was not present on the night of the raid in 2011.

One of an estimated 26 children of Osama bin-Laden, it is believed Hamza began preparing for a prominent role in al-Qaeda after a 2009 drone strike in Pakistan killed another brother, Saad.
