Despite withdrawing from a Fox News-sponsored debate last week, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump set aside his disagreement with the cable news giant for a brief interview on Fox News Sunday.
The presidential aspirant was quizzed by host Chris Wallace on a number of topics, particularly if Trump would bear consequences for passing on the debate, but as the conversation progressed, Trump was confronted with his personal donations to the Clinton Foundation.
Trump fleshed out his commitment to veterans’ organizations and described the extent of his generosity to veterans through hosting parties at his Palm Beach estate and various other properties for functions to benefit veterans’ groups.
When Wallace underlined donations from the Trump’s organization to veterans sat at $57,000 and his contributions to the Clinton Foundation included up to $250,000, Trump was asked to clarify the nature of the gifts.
“I did give to the Clinton Foundation. What I didn’t know is they’d be using it for private aircraft and things like that. The Clinton Foundation was helping with Haiti and with lots of other things, and I thought it was going to do some good work, so it didn’t make any difference to me,” Trump said in his defense.
