Former Vice Presidential Candidate and former Republican Governor of Alaska and current reality TV host Sarah Palin has endorsed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
“Are you ready for the leader to make America great again?” Palin said a rally at Iowa State University. “Are you ready to stump for Trump? I’m here to support the next president of the United States — Donald Trump.”
While Palin’s endorsement might help him with evangelical and Tea Party Republicans, her endorsement might also alienate Trump even further from more serious minded voters.
“The event, just 13 days before the curtain-raising Iowa caucuses, was a “Saturday Night Live” skit waiting to happen with the rigid, corporate candidate standing beside the folksy mama grizzly using words like “hope-y” and “change-y” to describe President Obama’s vision for America,” The New York Daily News article said. “Trump, when he was finally able to get the microphone back again, thanked his new cheerleader, and said he had been waiting for this moment since he got into the race.”
During her run for VP on John McCain’s ticket in 2008, Sarah Palin was known for a variety of verbal gaffs and getting stumped on questions that should be simple for anyone to answer, like when then-CBS news anchor Katie Couric asked her what newspapers she reads, and Palin was left grasping at straws.
