The Pentagon thinks Vladimir Putin has Asperger’s

A report issued by the Pentagon back in 2008 suggests that Russian President Vladimir Putin has an autistic disorder known as Asperger’s Syndrome. The document, which was obtained by CBS News, says that Mr. Putin’s “neurological development was significantly interrupted in infancy”, possibly caused by a stroke that his mother had while she was pregnant.

Research for the report was based solely on videos of Putin, dating back to fifteen years ago. According to WebMD, Asperger’s is a developmental disorder which “delays in the development of many basic skills, most notably the ability to socialize with others, to communicate, and to use imagination.” Additionally, many of those with the disorder have one particular talent or skill which they are exceptionally good at.

The Pentagon also noted in it’s analysis that, “his primary form of compensation for his disorder is extreme control and this is reflected in his decision style and how he governs”.

Is the Pentagon’s report a legitimate diagnosis or just a spiteful jab?
